Family Photo

Yes, I know its a long time coming, but we haven't had internet at the house for a couple months, so I at least have that excuse... :)
Here is our family picture with all of my family all at once except for my brother-in-law Jeremy who had to work over the holiday.

Yes, all those adorable, cute, wonderful, sweet, amazing kids are my nieces and nephews. =D

Rambles from an old me

Okay, so I didn't get to posting pictures of thanksgiving food yet, but I should get to it soon. :) I had a wonderful thanksgiving with my family, and was very sad to see all of them leave. Christmas is coming up very soon now, and I am so not ready for it!! As much as I love it every year, I wish it would slow down every now and again.... It creeps up on you FAST!!

Just to share what is going on in my life right now, God has been teaching me that He is the ONLY thing I should be leaning on and trusting!! It seems I have learned this lesson a couple times, but somehow I can't get it. Another thing He has been convicting me of lately, is praying *constantly*.
Sure, I pray during the day, but how much help can I be to other people who need me to ask God to intercede for them, when I am too busy doing 'important' things like chores, and exercising, and whatever needs to be done. I can pray while I am doing those things!!
I would like to thank those of you who have been praying for me as of late, for I have needed some awakenings in my life, and need now to work on them.  As I sign off, I offer my prayers of thanks for you, and God bless!!

How far between??

Hi all!!
Just to let you know, I don't know when I will be posting for a few weeks. I know there will be a few, but I have my sister and her 2 kids staying with us for a month so I will be quite occupied with enjoying my Kiddos and their cuteness, and doting and spending time with my sister. :) All of my siblings will be together for thanksgiving for the first time in a long while, so it will be a nice little family (or shall I say big family... 12 adults and 10 kids) reunion. :D I am sure I will post about the food we are having, since that is one of the best parts of any holiday, and I will also try to post some pictures sometime...
I'm open to 'post' suggestions, so suggest away, folks!! =]

Recommending a few books

Hello to all!!
I have been reading a few books as of late    ( and yes, it was late when I was reading )    , and some I have been reading for a second time since I had not read them in a little while, and thought I would share with you what books have been a great help in understanding what God actually expects of me, a single young girl.
One of them that I had read a year back was a book by Debi Pearl, and the name of the book was " Preparing to be a Help Meet " .
Though aimed at young women approaching marriage, the book contains instruction that can help a wife wanting her marriage to be all that God intended. It can even help young men learn more about how girls think and what characteristics would be most important in a wife.

Another wonderful book has been " My Heart In His Hands " by Ann Judson.
The book is actually the story of Ann Judson's life and has letters from her journal and diary, and also exchanged letters from her husband who was in Asia while she was trying to go to him and aid him in serving the less fortunate all because she felt God's calling her to serve as a missionary.
This quote is from one of her diary entry's:
"If nothing in providence appears to prevent, I must spend my days in a heathen land. I am a creature of God, and He has an undoubted right to do with me, as seems good in His sight. He has my heart in his hands, and when I am called to face danger, to pass through scenes of terror and distress, He can inspire me with fortitude, and enable me to trust in Him. Jesus is faithful; His promises are precious. Were it not for these considerations, I would sink down with despair. "

I have also been reading the book of Esther. That is one of my favorites of all time!! :)  Women and girls today have honestly no idea what it was like for her. If you really study to see what would happen to her if she appeared before the King unsommoned, you would find you would have not made the same choice. I believe God gave her the grace and strength to continue with His plan. Had she not been the courageous woman she was, God would have found another way to protect His people. However, she did not back down and how great is the story of a young girl who sacrificed EVERYTHING for the sake of her God and her people.
I would be incredibly blessed if I were to be in the same situation and have that same response. Her response reminds me of Mary Magdalene's;
"Behold, the handmaid of the LORD!!"

I hope you consider reading these books I recommend, and enjoy them thoroughly!!
God Bless!!

Let me introduce you... to me!!

Welcome to the first post of this blog!! I hope you enjoy what you read, and somehow, may it be a blessing to you.  As a few of you know, my name is MaryBeth and I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and I do my best to serve the one and only King of Kings. I live in the beautiful, God given United States of America, in the state of Michigan. Music is one of my passions, and would like to someday teach others how to be enthusiastic about music and love it as much as I do!! I love being me, myself, and, well... me. So don't expect me to be anyone else but me. =] Sarcasm is one of my main languages, and being curious is just something I am.
That's pretty much all that you need to know about me. :) I will be adding discussions, and I will be needing topics to post about, so please don't be afraid to ask me to post about something.
That's about all I can do for tonight, folks!! Good night to all.
